Architecture and Seism

I must to be honest, the structural subjects are not my speciality, indeed this year it´s not very different, even if im not bad in maths, i´m too slow for calculus, and i hate memorize formulas. But there is one thing that i love about the structural subjects, learn the logic of the science behind a building, and how to apply the different materials in the architecture. That´s why i really like the architecture and seism  subject in this fifth semester. In this subject we study how the seism work s, and how the building answers in the face of an earthquake. With this conceptual basis, we must apply in a teamwork some formulas to verify if the architecture can support an earthquake, and if the structure fails we must think in another solution. Apart from the calculus, the search of a correct solution for one building in the face of an earthquake using the structural logic, it´s very interesting. Hannes Meyer

Hannes Meyer was a swiss architect, he was the second director of the Bauhaus, the most important architecture school in twenty century after Walter Gropius. Before the Bauhaus, he work in Switzerland in trade union projects, as the Friedorf Siedlung. When he was director of the Bauhaus, Meyer gave the Bauhaus a comunist and scientific perspective, from a colective work focused in the development of the tecnic for build quality houses for the workers.  Meyer was expelled in 1930 by the Major of the city of Dessau for organize a communist cell in the school. After his expulsion he went to live and work in the USSR, where he had most of his professional activity as a  loudspeaker to the world, of the achievements of socialism, and explaining what it means to be a leninist architect. Later, at 1936, he returned to Switzerland to import the socialist experience inthe USSR, and later he traveled to Mexico turning into a mentor of latinamerican socialist architecture. Architecture as a class weapon

 Hello there! Today i´m going to talk about my perspective about the architecture, as a weapon for build a different world.  I think architecture is a disicpline whose is dependent on the ideology of the ruler class, as a way to build in the territory the method of the social relationships in a determinated system, by way of the architecture the society adjust the relationships between the workers and their jobs in the urban land, between the areas of the economy, and between the city and the field. That´s because it´s necesary not only work since the individual actions, we must modify the architecture, its teaching and its practice. Actual capitalist architecture is the discipline responsible for the build of segregated cities, monuments for the rich and left the misery for the working class, in exchange of this i thing we must work for a socialist architecture. My full of fleas bro

Hello there!  When i must to think in my favorite photo was really difficult, because a i hate my photos, in all of them i look ugly or very arrogant. But there is one photo where even if i look ugly, i look happy and that is special to me. I took this one day in 2020 when i was playing with Inti, my "full of fleas bro", it was a wonderful shot because that was in the accurate moment when Inti was "kissing" my face and was so tender. I like this photo because remember me i´m a human in moments when i feel like a machine whose only purpose is work for the university. When i was sad and lonely he always can bring out my a simile, even when i have any reason for being happy. Inti is my madness comrade, he is like a little brother for me, he always want to play and recive care.

The Santelmo Lasagne

 Hello there! Today i am going to talk about my favorite meal. Maybe for my that is a really hard question because i like a lot of food, the only exception is the sweet and sour meal. But, one clasic that i really like since i was very young is the lasagn, but specifically the "Santelmo lasagna". Unlike another lasagnas, the Santelmo lasagna has a particular preparation with some ham slices between the pasta and the cheese layers, it´s really delicious, this combination of the flauvor of the pasta, the chease, the beef and tomatoes in the sauce is really wonderfull. When i was a child, the Santelmo restaurant was to squares next to my home, but one day some years ago they leave to Italia neighbourhood "barrio Italia", but i still going to Santelmo with my mother or father to eat the lasagna with a beer. My old WII

Yes, that will sound weird but my favorite tecnology is my old WII game console, because is even thougt is a very old game console, it´s still working and i enjoy playing some games, that is one of the few things that i can do for relax in my free times. The best is i had it since around 2012, like eight or nine years ago, and i did´t nedd to buy another game console yet.  Even i don´t have too many games, when i´m under stress and need to waste energy i play "boxing" in WII Sports, when i need to relax i play The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, a master piece of adventrues videogames, with an excelent story, music and architecture. When i´m sad or tired play Zelda games is for my a good way for relax, it´s a similar experience like watch a Miyazaki movie, a "magic" experience. I recomed play WII fot those pwople who love nintendo clasic games and want to relax some time in the week.

Why architecture?

 Hello there! In this post i´ll explain why i choose architecture as the career that i want to study and live. Well, since i was a child i had a reference about this because my father is an architect, but he recomend me don´t study architecture because he didn´t think i really like the design, but when i saw him working in desgin of models and drawing blueprints i turn crazy, i really admire he and his passion. I was totally focused about study architecture in the U. Chile and i didn´t had any other options when i take the PSU, even when i postulated, i only mark one option: Architecture in U. Chile, that was my only alternative since i was twelve years old. My experience in the career At the moment i love this career, it´s demanding but exiting, even when i must stay up all night working in design workshop class.
